OLD WORLD – Traditional

Old World landscaping mixes with modern design to blend natural elements alongside the most current materials and clean lines, creating a serene, timeless space. This plan evokes a classic courtyard villa, transporting homeowners to a simpler time, reminiscent of European gardens. The water feature alongside a gathering area accented by a contemporary fire pit helps to enhance the comfort of family and friends, while creating a traditional, classic look that will withstand the test of time.

Incorporating rustic elements such as natural stone boulders and evergreen plants contribute to an atmosphere of nostalgia and familiarity, turning a regular home into a striking estate. The use of the latest durable materials alongside a manufactured weathered look allows the overall landscape to mature gracefully alongside the home over time.

An area for everything such as large gatherings or simple relaxation and contemplation allows everyone the opportunity to unwind while getting the most out of their surroundings. This helps to create an overall effect of comfort and intimacy, drawing on timeless aesthetics alongside the latest installation techniques. It is a space both inviting and long-lasting, creating a strong sense of place and identity. For homeowners, these designs are not just a tranquil retreat but a place to evoke memories of a time long past, making it a personal sanctuary and a testament to enduring style.

TUSCAN – Mediterranean

Located on a golf course in Wales, Wisconsin, this Mediterranean-style home is the ultimate home for entertainment. The home was designed with the intention of equaling the quality and feel of a Tuscan Villa. Complete with a Porte-cochère, this home features a bluestone auto court, a lavish central fountain, massive olive jar planters, and much more.

The builder of this home wanted to create an extremely authentic home of the highest quality. It was also important that this massive home be intimate, warm, and welcoming. To achieve this feel in the backyard landscape design, the landscape architect created outdoor “rooms” that were surrounded by stone walls, tall plants, and wood features. All of which provide separation from other outdoor areas.

Other features included in the landscaping are an outdoor kitchen, hot tub, bar area, fire table, stone bistro table, and extensive landscape lighting. To introduce color to the monotone exterior colors of the home, plant selection focused on vibrant colors, season-long color, numerous locations for annuals, and many large, colorful Vietnamese Clay planters.
